To Janice, Ron and the rest of the Slusarz family,
My deepest condolences for your loss. I first met Chris in the offices of Marvel Entertainment in the late 80's. She started her job on staff there not too soon after I started in the bullpen as an artist. She was a bright beacon of light from the first moment there; so well-remembered by everyone that knew her because, frankly, her kindness, incredible sense of humor, generosity and work ethic made her a friend to just about everybody, quickly. My biggest regret is in not keeping in touch with her after Marvel's bankruptcy separated and spread all of us to the winds. Just know that she was loved and respected by dozens of us miscreants at Marvel Comics--and she'll be missed greatly, in particular, by this one--Christopher Ivy

Dear Ron & Janice,
I only just learned of Christine's passing, & my heart breaks for you. The years we worked together & time I spent with your family so many years ago are so special to me. Christine acted as both a mentor & a friend and was truly the bravest & kindest person I've ever known. So full of optimism & humor in the face of adversity coupled with a great empathy. She will be truly missed.
I've missed all of you, & have you in my thoughts always.
So much Love,
Stefano

My first visit to NYC was with our dear friend, Kathleen. The trip's highlight was meeting you and Christine, Janice. I'll always remember the kindness and warmth of the Slusarz sisters and the special places you took us that evening. Mere words are not sufficient to tell you how sorry I am that Christine is gone. I have my own lovely memories of her, as well as the many stories that Kathleen has shared with me. I hope that, in time, your memories will bring you smiles instead of tears. Sincerely, Amy Smith

Dear Mr. Slusarz and Janice,
I was lucky enough to know Christine, and discover what you have known your whole lives: Your daughter, your sister was kindness, warmth, wit and happiness personified.
I don't know that I have ever met anyone who made time for the people in their lives the way Christine did. She cared about everyone, and had such a tender heart. Anybody who knew her and spent time with her was and is better for it.
She faced every challenge in her life with grace, courage and humor. That's a triple-threat. No matter what life threw her way, Christine met it with rare strength and tenacity. I don't know how she did it. I couldn't have done it.
She was funny. Really funny. She was the queen of the quiet, subtle comment that could make you laugh before you even realized you were laughing. She could do a spot-on impression of Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer from the Christmas special.
She loved watching "I Love Lucy." She didn't care too much for "The Honeymooners." She thought it was too depressing. We agreed to disagree on this one. But she was probably right.
She liked the Ray Bolger song "Once in Love With Amy," from the musical "Where's Charley?"
She was an old soul. She saw more than most. I think that's why she was so compassionate, able to take care of so many people.
She loved her father and her sister. Janice, Christine used to say that you were as close as the two sisters in "White Christmas." There's a song in the movie, "Sisters," that tells exactly how Christine felt about her family:
All kinds of weather
We stick together
The same in the rain or sun
Two different faces
But in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Your daughter, your sister was one of a kind. She loved you both deeply. She taught everyone she met what it means to care and to be kind to each other.
She'll always be with you, and with us.
With love, sympathy and deepest condolences,
Steve Behling

I'm very late posting here, but it saddened me much that Christine had passed on so young. She became the receptionist at Creative Media Communications in 1987, located on 31st Street, where I was the art director, and she was charming, attractive, and very personable to everyone, always
eager to help. I remember that she was very young ,and lived in Wappinger Falls. When I left the job at the end of the year I was surprised that she got emotional! Again, she was very sweet, and is missed.

Dear Ron & Janice,
I can not begin to tell you both how sorry I am that I could not be with you. I tried.
Christine has been a part of my life since she was three. Please know that I will miss her very much. In spite of all of her health issues she was kind, caring and always though that the two of you worried about her too much.
Please know that you will always be in my prayers.
Your friend,
Frank Rametta
