Obituary of Michael Cicerello

Michael Cicerello of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, February 3, 2014 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was 90. Son of the late John and Marie Cicerello he was born on January 3, 1924 in New York City. He married the former Rose Albergo on September 18, 1949 in New York City; Mrs. Cicerello preceded him in death, passing on May 1, 2013. Mr. Cicerello served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was proud to have been a postman for over 30 years for the United States Postal Service in the Bronx. Michael was a doting husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was known for his terrific sense of humor and he always enjoyed time spent with his family. Survivors include his children, Laura Malizia and her husband, Robert of Wappingers Falls, John Cicerello and his wife, Joan of New York City, and Diana Busa and her husband, Carmine of Hopewell Junction; six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends. In addition to his wife, Rose, he was predeceased by five sisters, one brother, and his grandson, Jonathan Malizia. Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will take place following services at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
