Obituary of Robert D. Rainboth
Robert D. Rainboth, 72, of Poughkeepsie, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018. “Bobby,” as his friends knew him, was born in Beacon, New York on August 1, 1945. He was the son of the late George E. and Edna (McGaughan) Rainboth.
Bob was employed as an auto and truck mechanic throughout his life and had the reputation of being among the very finest in the Hudson River Valley. He was a NASCAR enthusiast, attended many races, and toured a plethora of speedways, infields and racing museums.
He is survived by his domestic partner, Victoria Quinones; her children, Adam, Christine, Deborah and Kimberly Sitarz; his grandchildren, Stephen Dorney and Austin Alexander; his children, Brian, Michelle and Robert Rainboth; his sister, Joyce (Rainboth) Pomarico; his brothers, Joe, James and Dennis Rainboth; his seven grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his brothers, Charles A. and George L. Rainboth.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. during the visitation.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
