I just heard about Patti’s untimely departure. My heart is heavy; she was such an honest and kind friend. I regret that I didn’t know about this.
She loved her family more than anything, and she Always spoke so highly and lovingly of them. I respected Patti and valued our friendship that began as co-workers at LSSC. I will miss her.

Patti attended a book discussion group that I facilitated at a local public library in Florida. Once a month, we would all gather together and discuss the latest read. I was very happy when Patti joined our group. I enjoyed her insights and was always happy to see her in attendance because I knew we would have a lively discussion. Patti was never afraid to say exactly what she felt, in a good way. More importantly, after meeting month to month, a friendship developed.
Despite the fact that I moved away from Florida five years ago, I often think of my friends back in the Sunshine State and miss them all. Recently, I was extremely saddened and surprised to hear of Patti’s passing. She was a good person, a strong person. Her accomplishments were many.
My thoughts and prayers are extended to her family. I feel honored to have known her. Patti will be truly missed.

It is with deepest sympathy that I write this condolences. Patti and I worked together for many years at Lake Sumter State College. We shared many stories about our life and often discussed the challenges of the jobs that we performed. During her time at Lake Sumter State College we formed a friendship. She would often come by the office to chat and to discuss ways on how to make our jobs better and how we could assist students. Patti and I both shared a strong desire to help students. A few months before her passing we made contact with each other and she talked about her retiring from Beacon and taking a road trip to visit her daughter and the grands. She was so excited about the venture. She told me that when she returned home that she and I needed to get together and catch up. Although her time was brief, I am so glad she got a chance to visit with her love ones. I know we all will miss Pattie, but she is in good hands. May God continue to bless her family is my prayer.

Patti was such a good egg! We spent many Saturdays helping out at Beacon Open Houses. She was sweet, positive and always cheerful - not to mention very professionally knowledgeable. Patti was a cherished member of the Lake-Sumter State College family. We all loved her dearly. When I first came to LSSC in 2004, it was Patti that helped me feel comfortable in my position as an instructor in the Workforce Degree Programs. What a doll she was! We are all heartbroken to lose her.

So sad to see this. I remember the Riffles from the Meek Reunion of many, many years ago!!! My mom and Pauline used to compare notes. There were 8 Riffle kids and 7 of us!!! Sad to see it is our generation passing on. Condolences to the family.

I died inside when I heard the news. I will never be the same. Who will I call for advice, who will I laugh with, who will I comfort, who will I give the BFF comfort to? To Patti's family, I am so very sorry for your sudden loss, but I am so happy she was doing something she loved with the people she loved. I worked at LSCC when Patti started in the Women's Center. She was always so friendly and truly interested in others. She was a passionate professional always advocating for the underdog, especially displaced homemakers. I know she made positive differences in the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of women she served through the many programs she helped administer.
