Obituary of Suzanne Martinez

Suzanne Martinez, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her home. She was 86.

Daughter of the late Matthew and Margaret Hetherton Metz, she was born June 28, 1932 in Flushing, Queens. She graduated from St. Mary’s School and Flushing High School. She went on to attend St. John’s University in Brooklyn. She married Norman Huber on October 5, 1957 at Our Lady of Mercury Church in Hicksville. He died August 10, 1965. She married Anthony F. Martinez on May 27, 1967 at St. Patrick’s Church in Smithtown. He died January 19, 2004.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for Drs. Bharti and Chandra Desai in Wappingers Falls. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Martinez and Patricia Saraceno and her husband, Dan; her grandchildren, Stacey Khatskelevich and her husband, Lawrence, Daniel Saraceno and Megan Saraceno; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her son Norman R. Martinez in 2002 and her brothers, Edward, Matthew and Charles Metz.

Family will receive their friends on Friday September 7, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8 at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
