Obituary of Hardei Peters

Hardei "Shelley" Peters, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, June 18, 2015 at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 39. Daughter of Naipaul and Lilowtie Motie of Queens, she was born September 30, 1975 in Guyana. On September 5, 1992, she married Raymond R. Peters. Mr. Peters survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Shelley worked as a dental assistant. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her daughter, Mina Peters of Wappingers Falls; her brothers, Rajin and Devendra Motie; her sisters Michelle, Davaie and Sunita; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Prayers will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by interment at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
