Obituary of George J. Leggiere
George J. Leggiere passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018.
George was 100 years old and a resident of Florida. He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on January 29, 1918. George served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. He served as a cannoneer while stationed at Pearl Harbor.
Before his retirement and moving to Florida, he and his brother, Sonny Leggiere, ran and operated Hollywood Pools located in Salt Pont, NY.
He is survived by his son John Campanella and his wife, Sue of Wappingers Falls, New York and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His wife Ann pre-deceased in August 2001.
There will be no calling hours or church service. There will be graveside prayers on Monday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m.at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike in Poughkeepsie. This was his wish.
