Obituary of Esther Paskey

Esther Paskey entered into rest Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Wingate at Ulster. She was 101.

Daughter of the late Ashley and Myra Brazier Richards, she was born November 10, 1917 in Poughkeepsie.  She married Frank H. Paskey on June 16, 1940 at Christ Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie. Together they shared a home in Fishkill for sixty years. Mr. Paskey preceded her in death on May 20, 2000.

Esther primarily took care of the home and her children. She also worked part time as a secretary for the Boy Scouts and later as a bookkeeper at Ketcham Motors in Fishkill. She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls.

Survivors include her children, Marion J. Paskey, William Paskey and his wife, Andrea, and Pat “Toni” Raiche and her husband, Bill “Skip”; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Raiche, Tom Raiche, Michael Paskey, and Lee Raphael; her great-grandchildren, Ally Raiche, Katrina Raiche, Victoria Raiche, Zackery Raiche, Dillon Paskey, and Lillian Raiche; as well as her niece and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 9 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
