I had the pleasure of serving with MAJ Girton for a number of years. She was an integral part of the G1 team and always made me smile with her stories.

Len and I send our deepest condolences to you, Bob, and all of Elva's family. Elva and I shared many good times, like when we went to the dedication of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Washington, DC. (She and I are both charter members.) Len, Elva, and I...plus our other New York Guard buddies...has so much fun meeting in Latham for our monthly drills. We worked hard, but we sure had a lot of laughs, too. I know two things for sure: Elva was deeply proud of her military service, and she loved her family to the moon and back. I will sincerely miss her a lot.
