Obituary of Lucy B. Haynes - Keeler

Lucy B. Haynes – Keeler, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2014, at home with her family at her side. Lucy was born on November 7, 1927 in Waverly, Ohio. She was the oldest child of Milford and Sadie Rose Lewis. She married David E. Haynes, Jr. in Greenfield, Ohio. He predeceased her in 1977. Lucy was remarried to Edwin Keeler, who predeceased her in 2006. She was employed by Electra Supply Company in Poughkeepsie as an accounts receivable bookkeeper. She retired in 1993 after twenty-two years of service. Lucy is survived by her son, Larry L. Haynes, Sr. and his wife, Michele of New Hamburg; her grandson, Larry L. Haynes, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Salt Point; her granddaughter, Jodi A. Darling and her husband, Stephen of Wappingers Falls; and Charles Harrison and his wife, Jennifer of Poughkeepsie who was considered by Lucy to be a third grandchild. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Samantha Haynes, and Kailey, Anna, Stephen and Michael Darling; as well as many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4 at Cold Spring Cemetery, Peekskill Road, Cold Spring. The family wishes to thank the Nursing Staff, Social Workers, and Patient Techs on the 5th Floor South of Vassar Brothers Medical Center as well as Hudson Valley Hospice for the loving care they gave to Lucy.
