Obituary of Peter T. McDonald

Pete McDonald, 73, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sugarland TX on February 1, 2021 after a long illness. Peter was born on May 10, 1948 to Eileen (McKay) and Joseph W. McDonald He graduated from St. Mary’s School and Our Lady of Lourdes High School where he played football. Pete was a self-employed craftsman who loved repairing/restoring old homes in the Village. Pete loved listening to audible books, walking, movies, football, sledding with his niece and nephews at Mt. Alvernia and observing and enjoying his environment. In the early 90’s, “Coach Pete” served as football coach for Pop Warner Football. Pete is survived by his brother and sisters: Eileen Sassmann of Wappingers Falls, John (Theresa) McDonald of Sugarland, TX; Beth (Larry) Bishop of Dover, DE, Peggie McDonald of Georgetown, TX, and sister-in-law Donna McDonald of Wappingers Falls. Pete is also survived by nephews: Joe of Sugarland, TX, Riordan of Dover, DE, Pete of Georgetown, TX, and niece, Molly of South Fork, CO; great nephews: Cody of Sugarland, TX, Tyler and Liam of Georgetown, TX; and great nieces: Payton and Teagan of Georgetown, TX. As with many other Irish families, Pete is survived by a host of cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Theresa, and brothers: Major Joseph and Charles (Chas). There will be no calling hours.
