Obituary of Gina N. Olivieri

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Gina N. Olivieri, resident of Poughkeepsie. Gina entered into rest Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was 54 and gone too soon. Daughter of Ernesto and Concetta Olivieri, she was born February 18, 1966 in the Bronx. Her parents survive in Wappingers Falls. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, David Olivieri, Lisa Olivieri and Erica Turner; her nieces and nephews, Rebecca Scherer, Michael Scherer, Kacie Tretola, and Dominic Olivieri; her great-nephew Ramon Cruz. Gina was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Selfless in her pursuit to make others comfortable and feel cared for which brought her great joy. A devout catholic, an animal lover and avid traveler. To her family she will be missed tremendously and remembered for her dedication and love. Family will receive friends Friday, February 19, 2021 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 20 at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wappingers Falls. In compliance with NYS guidelines, wearing masks and social distancing are required and capacity is limited for all services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dutchess County SPCA or Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
