Obituary of Angela Maria Petrillo

Angela Maria Petrillo, devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, entered into eternal rest on April 8, 2021, after a long and rich life of over 64 years. She was born and raised in The Bronx, NY and moved to Fishkill, NY with her Husband, Salvatore Petrillo in 1989. She was a graduate of Mount St. Mary College with a Degree in Teaching. 

Angela devoted her life to her family, and was very active in her parish, St. Mary Mother Church. She believed in the best in people and that any obstacle could be overcome with true faith, devotion, and prayer. Angela loved to orchestrate family gatherings, teach the children of her parish in CCD, do charitable works and sing. She was an amazing singer in a line of matriarchs who carried the gift of grace in singing. She ensured this legacy was cultivated within her three daughters. 

Angela is reunited with her husband Salvatore. The heart and strength of the Petrillo family are in heaven; watching over their legacies created on earth. She will always be remembered as a kind, passionate, and religious woman. Heaven’s choirs are fortunate to have the addition of this magnificent siren of faith. 

She is survived by her five children (Domenico, Maddalena, Salvatore Jr., Angela Jr. and Maria), her four siblings (and their spouses), many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She endowed their lives with an amazing legacy of faith and love. At the moment of her passing, she was surrounded by her entire family in prayer.

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at St. Mary Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St., Fishkill, NY 12524. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Webster Avenue & E 233rd St., in The Bronx.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Smith House or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
