Obituary of Daniel F. Maloney

Daniel “Dan” Maloney, 63, a resident of Wappingers Falls, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 peacefully at his home after a long fight with cancer.

Dan is survived by his wife, Ruth (Shaw); his son, Daniel; sister, Loretta; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Louise Maloney.

Dan was born in White Plains, NY. He served proudly in the United States Army and was a thirty-five year employee of the United States Postal Service. Dan was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, running, landscaping and detailing his truck.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

Ruth and Daniel would like to thank all our family and friends, Dan’s postal family and customers for their support and kindness throughout this horrible time. Though Dan fought as hard as he could, this was a fight he could not win.
