Obituary of Mary Pauline LaPietro

Mary (Pauline) LaPietro entered into rest Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. She was 78.  

Daughter of the late Romeo C. and Domenica M. (Bertolini) LaPietro, she was born on October 21, 1942 in the Bronx.

Mary worked for many years as a medical secretary for various doctors in Orange County. In her spare time, she loved doing crafts: doll making, sewing clothing for dolls, crocheting and knitting. She was always ready to have fun. Her favorite pastime included playing games and cards with her friends at St. Simeon, where she resided for 21 years. Mary was impeccably dressed and always had elegant taste. Her favorite movie was Gone with the Wind.

Survivors include her nephew and Godson, Joseph Ruggiero and his wife, Stephanie; niece, Carola Ruggiero-Bendetti and her husband, Richard; great-nephew, Michael; and a host of cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Carola Ruggiero, and her brother-in-law, Joseph P. Ruggiero.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m on Monday, June 7, 2021 at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
