Obituary of Maria Isabel Betancourt

Maria Isabel Betancourt, entered into rest Friday, October 16, 2015 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 89. Daughter of the late Americo and Isabel Tirado Betancourt, she was born March 31, 1926 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Prior to her retirement, Maria worked as a bookkeeper and lastly as an office manager for her daughter's private practice. She was a devoted Catholic praying the rosary daily. Maria is survived by her children, Mario Ronda, Julio Ronda, Maria Ronda, Rafael Ronda, and Magdalena Acosta and her husband, Juan who was another son to her; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Anthony, Prisilla, Jerrad, Victoria, Cristina, Joseph and Michael; her great-granddaughter, Keira; her brother, Americo Betancourt; and sisters, Esther Betancourt and Margie Betancourt. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Mary Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street in Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10605.
