Obituary of Concetta Rose

Concetta Margaret "Tina" (Cotro) Rose passed away in the early morning hours of October 21, 2015. Tina was born in the Bronx, New York to Gaetano and Olympia (Pulverini) Cotro on January 30, 1926. Growing up in the Bronx, Tina was a bobby-soxer and saw Frank Sinatra perform at the Paramount Theatre in New York City. Tina graduated from Evander Childs High School in the Bronx where she was awarded the prestigious Orange Certificate. She went on to work in the Wall Street district of New York City. In August of 1947, Tina married her high school sweetheart, Francis Anthony "Frank" Rose, upon his return from serving in the United States Army Air Corp in World War II. The couple had 4 children and moved to Dutchess County in the early seventies. Tina and Frank remained together until Frank's passing in 1987. Tina went on to work at the Holiday Inn of Fishkill for many years at the front desk. She was a favorite of many guests. She retired from the Holiday Inn to take care of her grandchildren. Tina is survived by her loving sister and best friend Margaret (Cotro) Petrillo of Garnerville, her children, Barbara Seipp and her husband Charles of Wappingers Falls, Richard Rose and his wife Debi of Red Hook, Robert Rose of Hopewell Junction and Janice (Rose) Dimock and her husband Lou of Wappingers Falls. Four grandchildren, Shelby Seipp of New Paltz, Cody Seipp of Rensselaer, Michael Rose of Los Angeles, and Chelsea Rose of Potsdam. Tina is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, too many to list here. In addition to her husband, Tina, was predeceased by her loving brother, Salvatore William Cotro. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
