Obituary of Kenneth Dooris

Kenneth Dooris, a resident of Rhinebeck and longtime local resident, entered into rest Friday, September 17, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 70.

Son of the late Francis and Thelma Rose Dooris, he was born December 22, 1950 in Poughkeepsie. Ken worked on the manufacturing line at IBM in East Fishkill and later worked in maintenance as well as a bus driver for the Arlington School District. He loved watching sports and treasured time spent with his grandkids.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Dooris and his wife, Danielle of Colorado; his daughter, Danielle Tokarz and her husband, Jeffrey of Hopewell Junction; his significant other, Diane Dousharm; the mother of his children, Muriel Dooris; his grandchildren, Madelynn and Connor Tokarz and Mackenzie, Dylan and Collin Dooris; his brothers, Clifford, Ronald, Bruce and David Dooris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Aiello; and brothers, Floyd, Gerald and Francis Dooris.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 24 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Evergreen Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
