Obituary of Sulochana V. Jagirdar

Sulochana V. Jagirdar, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021 in Poughkeepsie, New York surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her brothers Ashok (Nila), Yogesh (late Bharti) and Ramesh (Rekha); her niece and nephews and a great nephew and a great niece.

Sulochana Jagirdar was born on October 26, 1936, in Mumbai India. She graduated from Bharatiya Vidha Bhavan in 1956.  She later married the late Vasant Jagirdar in 1969 and moved to the US with her husband.  She was an esteemed accountant who retired from the Dutchess County Social Services agency.

Sulochana was an ever helpful, caring and considerate woman. She helped raise her younger brothers, took care of her mother, and sponsored the brothers and their families.  She adored her great nephew and great niece who always made her smile joyfully. Sulochana loved flowers and always made garlands by hand for many services at the Temple and auspicious occasions for the family. She was generous in gifts and blessings for all in the community, making donations to various temples and volunteered at soup kitchens for many years. She loved India, yoga, meditation and our sanatana dharma.

Sulochana is dearly missed and the family mourns her passing
