MEMORIES OF SUSAN
My fondest memory goes way back to the late fifties.
I felt honored and priveleged to spend many weekends at her childhood home. Saturday nights we would giggle so loud , we always were told to quiet down. (we tried to make Mary not stay with us in the bed , but somehow I ended up in the middle of the three of us. )
Other fond memories of those younger days was trying to hide from family in her bedroom closet because the closet was always piled high with clothes on the floor. We would get in the closet and move the clothes and pile them on top of us and stay very hush-hush because we wanted our own time together. I know now that Harriet, her mom knew all along , but not back then.
A precious memory that sticks out the most: Susan loved to steal my chewing gum right put of my mouth as this went on through high school. She loved gum. I would just shake my head. She didn't care whether it was a fresh piece or not. If I was chewing gum and she wanted it, she took her fingers, opened my mouth, grabbed my piece of gum and put it in her mouth . I just shook my head but I let her do it of course.
We wanted to be true sisters, so we pinched our index fingers, put them together and said a prayer.
No matter what, we were sisters for life. Oh how I love you . We spent many childhood mothers days together. I was at her house on Saturday to spend the night and have breakfast in bed .Harriet, ( her mother), brought us breakfast instead of us bringing Harriet breakfast, crazy but I see it as plain as yesterday
Susan's mother loved to bake ,there was always sweets at the table to grab from through the years . As we became older and kind of went our separate ways but still stayed together as friends. We always stayed in touch and then after high school when we both married we definitely got back in touch taking turns calling each other. Our specials times were our bdays and mostly importantly, Mothers day as we began having families.
We would get together as families when we lived close by it was wonderful times especially in Pennsylvania. It then became once a month. We. would call each other on each other's birthday and of course once we became mothers it became a tradition to call each other on Mother's Day as it was our special day. During our high school years, when it was hard living at my own house , I knew I had a safe haven in the middle of the night to go to, and sleep on the couch in her home ,even if it was the middle of the night .
May you Rest in Peace , Susan. You are now pain free and with your parents. I will look for your shining star. I love you. Fly High

I am so saddened hearing of Sue's passing. Sue and I were good friends in school. I never saw her since but thought of her often. She was a beautiful person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. Love, Sue Catanzarite

Even though Susan, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, is in a better place , there are not enough words to cover the emotions I feel losing my sister of the heart. RIP, Susan. God Bless your family.
