Obituary of Barbara J. Bischoff
Barbara J. Bischoff, a seven year resident of Parrish, Florida and formerly of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Bradenton, Florida. She was 78.
Daughter of the late Raymond and Gladys DeVoe Dangerfield, she was born April 28, 1943 in Poughkeepsie. On June 3, 1962, she married Howard T. Bischoff at Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls. Mr. Bischoff survives at home.
Barbara worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie for a few years before having children. She went on to work at Southern Dutchess News and ended her career in Dutchess County Government. Barbara retired in November 2006 after twenty-one years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Barbara enjoyed going to the beach, playing games and going to the casino.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Howard Bischoff and his wife, Lenna, Audra Murray and her husband, Doug and Brian Bischoff and his wife, Tara; her grandsons, Daniel, Tyler, Berney and Jake; her sister, Joyce Courchaine; her brother, David Dangerfield and his wife, Marge; her brothers-in-law, Wayne Bischoff and wife, Carmen and Ronald Bischoff and wife, Beverly; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Edwin Dangerfield and wife, Virginia and John Dangerfield; and her parents-in-law, Howard and Winifred Bischoff.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 8 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
