Obituary of Frank Gaetani, Sr.

Frank Gaetani, Sr., 76, of Wappingers Falls entered into eternal rest Monday, November 22, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He is now able to join his beloved wife Marie in heaven.   
Son of Charles and Grace Furrugio Gaetani, he was born on February 23, 1945 in the Bronx. He married the love of his life, Marie DelGiudice, on September 9, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx. Mrs. Gaetani preceded  him in death in 2008.
Frank worked for most of his career as a chemist and Director of Fuels Research for Texaco in Glenham, NY, until he retired to take care of this wife. He loved keeping in touch with his Texaco co-workers who were his mentors  and best friends.  He was lucky enough to have a special companion, Florence Aruza of Newburgh.
When his children were younger, Frank coached Little League. His greatest joy was always his family; he especially loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his children, Camille Zengen and her husband, Michael of Pleasant Valley, and Frank Gaetani, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Wappingers Falls; brother, Charles Gaetani of Wappingers Falls; sisters, Frances  Zahurak of Poughkeepsie and Carmela Sweeney of Long Island; grandchildren, Chelsea Marie and her husband, Mark, Collin and his girlfriend, Kelly, Anthony and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Leo and Sam; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Family will receive their friends on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
