Obituary of Elizabeth Daly Lewis

Elizabeth Lewis, 91, of Arlington, VA and more recently of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on December 6, 2015 with family by her side. She is the daughter of Clare Hagen and Stanley Daly. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Robert Kenneth Lewis, who was a physicist for IBM in Fishkill. She is predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Mary Link. Betty was also predeceased by her sister, Marjorie and brothers, John and Bob. Betty leaves her son, Robert M. Lewis and wife Linda of Danbury, CT; a daughter, Anne Sapiro and her husband Len of Woodstock, NY; and her son, Kevin Paul Lewis and wife Theresa of Dudley, MA. She also leaves four grandchildren, Emily Lewis O'Brien, Sean Lewis, Austen Link and Emma Rose Sapiro and a great-granddaughter Willow. Betty enjoyed playing bridge with her dear friends. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing the organ and painting. She raised four redheads, taught first grade and wrote a book for children learning to read. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for a wake at Straub Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday the 12th at Saint Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
