Obituary of James F. Hannigan

James F. Hannigan, 63, of Beekman, NY. passed away unexpectedly at home on February 24th, 2022. Jim was born June 6th, 1958 in Poughkeepsie, NY and raised in New Hamburg. He was very involved in the community with various sports as well as volunteering for New Hamburg Fire Department Station 1 alongside his father. A graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School, he then went on to serve in the United States Navy as a boiler technician aboard the U.S.S Garcia . After serving he came back home to New York and continued to work in that field. Once retired he became an active member volunteering to help raise funds for veterans with PTSD called We Have Your 6. Jim’s hobbies included motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, grilling and spending time with family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James and Joyce, his brother Jeff, and his lifelong childhood friend Bobby Haselkamp. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Kristina along with his three children James, Jason, and Krystal, his beautiful granddaughters as well as his sister Joanne Hannigan Westermann and her family.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. Military Honors will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
