Obituary of Joan G. Goetchius
Joan G. Goetchius, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 80.
Daughter of the late Herman and Meta Krumme Mahland, she was born December 15, 1941 in Brooklyn. In 1964, she married David C. Goetchius. Mr. Goetchius survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Joan enjoyed the time she spent at the Wappinger Senior Center and was a longtime member of the Wappinger Bowling League on Tuesday mornings. She was also a member of the Marist Red Fox Club. She will always be remembered for her love of Atlantic City.
In addition to her husband, David C. Goetchius of Wappingers Falls, she is survived by her sons, Michael Goetchius of Wappingers Falls and David J. Goetchius and his wife, Nola of Coxsackie; her sister, Anne Demarais of Lawrenceville, NJ; her grandchildren, Jeremy Dengler of Schenectady and Bobi Kotlarich of Colonie; her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ayden, Anthony and Bella; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be private.
