Obituary of Charles Amos Cunningham
Charles Cunningham, age 90 of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully Wednesday, June 1st at home surrounded by family. Born May 30th, 1932 in Allenwood, PA, he was the son of the late Chester and Anna Forrey Cunningham and the oldest of two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters, Linda Kowalsky of Wappingers Falls, NY, Beth Cunningham of Hermosa Beach, CA, and son, Todd Cunningham of Montgomery, NY. He was predeceased by his brother, Chester William Cunningham of Saugerties, NY.
He and Joan left Pennsylvania and settled in Poughkeepsie, where he pursued a long and successful career as an IBM engineer, starting in 1956, until he took early retirement at 55 years of age. He served in the Korean War in the US Army where he repaired radios. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyed puttering around; there was nothing he couldn't fix. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
