Obituary of David George Hill

David George Hill, three year resident of Georgia and formerly of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Friday, June 24, 2022 at home. He was 52.

David was born on April 30, 1970 in Poughkeepsie to parents Jean Bartsch Marr and the late David R. Hill. He married Michelle Fonfrias in 2014; Mrs. Hill survives at home in Georgia.

David was self-employed, working as a creative director and videographer. He was an avid Yankee fan and loved to travel. He visited many places over the years: Amsterdam, Austria, Ireland, Italy and Paris, to name a few. He even traveled across country in the United States. David enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. He was also a black belt.

In addition to his wife, Michelle and mother, Jean, he is survived by his stepfather, Dave; his brothers Scott and Johnathan Marr; his uncles Robert and Alan Hill, and Timothy Hall; his cousins Jessica, Christina, Gil (Bartsch), Crystal, Justin, Ashley (Hall), and Chris Hill; and nieces and nephews, Hudson, Harper, Sadie and Ben.

David was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, Doris and Cleve Hill, and Marie and John Hall, and his uncles George Hall and Guilford Bartsch.

Family will receive their friends on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church, 1168 Route 55 in Lagrangeville. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Poughkeepsie.
