Inulio Torres

Obituary of Inulio Torres

Early Sunday morning, Inulio joined his beautiful wife in heaven.

Inulio Torres was born June 18, 1927 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to the late Andres Torres and Julia Morales. Inulio was one of 12 brothers and sisters.

Inulio came to New York from Puerto Rico with only a few dollars and built a family. Even though he was living in the Bronx, he was an island man through and through. He remained connected to the island throughout his life with the people he loved. Inulio enjoyed talking about growing up on the island and the mango trees. In fact he loved food and became a chef and worked as such in Manhattan's theater district for many years.

Stubborn with a big heart Inulio, was a true gentleman and touched the lives of everyone he met. His laughter, his voice, his smile, his love of life and people will always be ingrained in all whom were lucky to have had him in their life.

A husband, a father, a grandfather and a great-grandfather he lived a long life and got to see a lot he will forever be missed. Nosotros te amamos.

Survivors include his daughters, Nereida Diaz and her husband, Richard of Wappingers Falls and Naida Amatulli and her husband, Angelo of Carmel; his grandchildren, Jessica, Richard, Christopher, Verrinia, Michelle and Anthony; as well as his great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Clayton, Issac and Sophia.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 4 at St. John the Evangelist, 35 Willow Street in Beacon. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
