Obituary of Stanley V. Bomba, Jr.

Stanley V. Bomba, Jr., 74, died October 1, 2022 in Montrose, NY.

Mr. Bomba was born December 10, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, NY to Dorothy Wendell Hill and Stanley Bomba Sr.

After graduating trade school, he operated the family auto body shop on East Dorsey Lane in Hyde Park until he enlisted in the Navy as a Seabee, served in Vietnam and was awarded the Silver Star and Gallantry Cross for valor in combat. Following injury, Honorable Discharge, Mr. Bomba became a tireless champion of our nation’s heroes through his involvement and leadership of veterans organizations such as the VFW, VVA and DVA. In addition, Mr. Bomba volunteered countless hours at the Castle Point VA facility and was the driving force behind the establishment of the transportation program that has served his fellow veterans throughout the Hudson Valley for over 30 years.

Mr. Bomba is survived his eldest son Jeff and his spouse, Jeff and Holly Bomba; daughter and her spouse, Allysha and Martin Kubicek; and his youngest son and his partner, Greg Bomba and Alexis Fehon; eight grandchildren Cory, Kayla, Annabel, Elijah, Jonah and Jeremiah Bomba, and Claire and Alex Kubicek; as well as his former wife of 30 years, Carol Bomba.

Mr. Bomba was predeceased by his father and brother, Stanley Sr, and Vincent Bomba.

A memorial service will be held at Straub Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 this Friday, October 7, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm.
