Obituary of Joanne Catoggio

Joanne Catoggio of Wappingers Falls, New York, a loving, wife, mother and grandmother, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023, after a long illness. She was 77.

Daughter of the late Leonard and Helen Giaccone, she was born February 12, 1945 in New York City.

Joanne married the love of her life, Michael J. Catoggio on September 29, 1963, in Bronx, New York, who survives her at home in Wappingers Falls, New York.

Joanne was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls, New York.

Joanne worked in retail until she retired to help raise her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. After her grandchildren started school, she continued caring for children at the Hyde Park Nursery School. In her retirement, she loved baking for her family, spoiling her grand-dogs, celebrating Christmas and Halloween, and family trips to Lake George.

She is also survived by her daughter, Christina Grimaldi and her husband Mark Grimaldi of Hyde Park, New York; granddaughter, Michelle Grimaldi and her husband, Jayson VanBeusichem; grandsons, David and AJ; as well as her brothers, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Joanne was also predeceased by her brother Leonard Giaccone, and her beloved dogs Chloe and Caesar.
