Obituary of Roger G. Perry

Roger G. Perry, a resident of Fishkill, entered into rest Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 81.

Son of the late Oscar and Eileen Grove Perry, he was born June 24, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts.  He married the former Karon Woodard on October 10, 1964 at the First Reformed Church of Fishkill. Mrs. Perry survives at home.

Roger worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Fishkill, retiring in 2000. He was an active member for over sixty years of the First Reformed Church of Fishkill where he was a deacon, elder and on the consistory. He was involved in Boy Scouts and held several roles in different local troops. After his retirement, he and his wife loved to travel including visits to ten countries abroad. He enjoyed gardening and puttering in the yard. Roger was known for his cooking. Most importantly, he treasured time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Karon J. Perry; his children, Stacey Tucholski and her husband, Ed of Poughkeepsie, Cheryl Tucholski and her husband, Mike of Poughkeepsie, Wayne Perry and his wife, Andrea of Pleasant Valley, and Tracy Diamond and her husband, Pete of Saugerties; his grandchildren, Edward, Jr. and his fiancée, Sarah, Krista, Emilie, Benjamin, and Cassie; and his great-grandson, Nikolas.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald Perry and Quinn Weiss.

A memorial service will be held at the First Reformed Church of Fishkill on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Reformed Church of Fishkill, 1153 Main Street, Fishkill, NY 12524 for their memorial garden.
