Your Mom was a wonderful, kind person; always going out of her way to make others happy. I knew her when I was her instructor when she attended Richard I Beauty School on Main Street in Poughkeepsie about 1982.
Not only Kay being a fantastic hairdresser, she also baked a delicious sheet cake for my Aunt Jennie's 75th birthday party. To add her special touch to the cake she had a small singer sewing machine for the decoration because Jennie was a seamstress. I still have that decoration on top of the real machine in my dinning room and always think of your Mom when I see it.

Prayers for Mrs. Lefebvre and condolences to her family. She was the nursery school teacher for both me and my sister. It was a wonderful and loving place to start our education.

Words for my Mom
By Paul Lefebvre
On April 21, 2023 we lost a very special lady, my mom, Kay Lefebvre. She has been described by those around her as one of the sweetest, kindest and most loving people they know.
For me and my sister Denise, she was the best mom a kid could ask for. She was always engaged and caring to our interests and needs. She made a big deal out of every birthday, holiday and anniversary. We will never forget the magical Christmases she created that we spent together. She loved to meet all the people in our lives, luring them to the house with fresh baked brownies and cookies! She loved our friends and kept asking us for updates on them throughout her lifetime.
My mom was also a great wife to my dad. They showed us the blueprint for a successful relationship and marriage. They were always a great tag team, whether managing & coaching a little league team, co-directing a Drum & Bugle Corps, or running a loving and successful nursery school together. One of their proudest moments would be when a child in their nursery school grew all the way to adulthood, and then sent their own child to "Mrs. Lefebvre's nursery school".
My mom was a devout Catholic, and prayed a Novena to St. Jude daily. It was so important to her, that we are burying it with her along with its “well-worn and tattered pages”.
In her later years she loved doting over her grandchildren and her little dog Lilly. She's the only person I know that could coax my dad to dress up as the Easter bunny and dance to the bunny hop song! She continued to make every holiday and get-together very special events.
As her struggle with Alzheimer's took root, my sister and her son Ryan stepped up to help so she could remain in the house she loved as long as possible. One of them would always be there even at night. This was a great sacrifice as caregiving for advanced Alzheimer's is not for the “faint of heart”. Special thanks to Denise and Ryan for this. You definitely gained some steps to heaven.
In February of this year, mom got to meet her first great-grandchild Jase. It was a fantastic visit, with a giggling baby pulling forward lucid moments from our mom. She smiled and laughed and said she “loved the baby”. I found it amazing that even in the latest stages of her terrible disease, she still somehow knew that she loved us all. She got hugs from all the Texas crew that day. I was glad all the grandkids and spouses were able to make it back to see her. It's a treasured day I will never forget.
I feel like we are all better for having known my mom. She showed us how to be kind to one another, and how to love unconditionally. She had the biggest heart and she readily shared it with all of us. We will especially miss her squishy hugs! I find comfort in knowing she finally got to shed her broken body, and can now enjoy her newfound freedom in heaven, where she will get to rejoin dad and all her loved ones that predeceased her. I pray that in my mom's memory, we can all strive to be kind, caring and loving with one another, and continue to earn our steps to heaven.

I never met Paul’s mom, but I was here when Paul had his last visit with her. He had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, but a very heavy heart. He told me and I quote “I may have to go out back and have a good cry”.
He was so extremely happy that she was so lucid seeing her great-grand son… she literally talked like she hadn’t for so very long. It was probably one of the best stories I’ve heard my whole life. She woke up and saw her family and young Jase, so very glad to see her also.
I’m so happy I was there for that story, and the love that this family has for each other is amazing.
I’m sure she’s smiling in heaven now.
I thank the entire family for sharing that with me, and more.
What a wonderful woman XOXO
