Obituary of William A. Barca
It is with deep sadness the family of William A. Barca, Sr. announces his sudden passing due to an aneurysm. He was 73.
William (Billy, Sparky) is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia. They were inseparable and enjoyed long walks and hikes together when they were not involved in a project in the house. Above all else, he loved spending time with the family. He is survived by his sisters, Alyce and Dotty; his brother, Tommy; his brother-in-law and buddy, Fred; and his loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Ed.
William was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy and his oldest sister, Catherine.
Sadly Dad leaves behind five children, William, Jr. (Yesenia), Deanna, Susan (Pasquale), Frank (Dana), and Michael (Melissa). Poppy also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, PJ (Amanda), Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Michael, Jr., Dante, Daniela, Sophia, Dorian, Billy III, Julian, Mason and Maren as well as six great-grandchildren, Scotty, Angelo, Aiden, Rocco, Thomas and Elias.
William enlisted and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Vietnam for one of his four years.
He will be remembered as the hardest working man anyone would meet. As exhausted as he often was, he would gladly help anyone that needed him. He took great pride in his home, carpentry work and especially his lawn!
William was an avid Yankees fan and always loved to play baseball and softball. Billy, as a child, would be so excited on Saturday mornings he would wake up early to walk to Trevor Park being the first one there. In Billy’s later years, when he could no longer run the bases, he enjoyed playing golf.
Billy loved his sweets, especially Chunky Monkey ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.
The family asks that family and friends join them in a Celebration of Life Service from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Straub, Catalano Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 (845) 297-2610. William’s son and daughter-in-law, Bill, Jr. and Yesenia as well as grandchildren, Daniela and Billy, III will lead a prayer at 3:15. Services will end with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to cherish their family and hold them tight. Also to enjoy some ice cream and chocolate chip cookies!
