Obituary of Anthony C. Pappalardo
Anthony Pappalardo of Hopewell Junction entered into rest Friday, June 2, 2023 at home, with his wife at his side. He was 76.
Son of the late Joseph and Carmella Iadevio Pappalardo, he was born on November 17, 1946 in Brooklyn. Anthony was one of four children. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Pfiefer (Gary) and their two children, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Josephine Matula (Vincent) and their three children of Nesconset, NY. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Pappalardo and his wife, Iris.
Anthony attended New York Community College, receiving an associate degree in mechanical technology. After graduating, he was married and had two children with his first wife. He was hired by IBM in 1967 to work in Oswego in their drafting department. He later transferred to IBM East Fishkill, working in several roles. He retired from IBM, taking a job with Dorsey Gage, and later Praxair Air until his retirement in 2010.
In his spare time, he had many hobbies. He enjoyed automobile maintenance, restoration and small engine repair. He also liked wood working and to handle home repairs.
In 1990, he married Beverly Pappalardo. They had many wonderful friends who they enjoyed sharing time with. They had many fantastic trips in the USA and abroad. They enjoyed their friends and family throughout their nearly 33 years together.
The best thing he loved was his wife, Beverly; his four children, Joseph Pappalardo (Matina) of Melbourne, FL, Jeanette Pappalardo Nagle (Raymond) of Indialantic, FL, step-daughter Deborah Boyce (Shaun, Sr.) of Salt Point, NY, and step-son, John Grant (Tara) of Greenville, NY. He left this earth with 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren that were his treasures and brought him much happiness.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 12 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY 12524.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hudson Valley Hospice for their continued help and loving care of Anthony; especially Mary, Lauren, Elizabeth, Cathy and all the volunteers.
