Obituary of Richard F. Brosnan

Richard F. Brosnan, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Friday, June 2, 2023 at his home. He was 64.

Son of Lillian Bulloss Brosnan and the late Donald Brosnan, he was born January 1, 1959 in the Bronx. Rick proudly served in the United States Marines. He was honorably discharged in 1980.

Rick worked as a Lab Technician at Onsemi in East Fishkill, after retiring from many years at IBM. He was a parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was an avid Yankee fan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife Dana Brosnan who he married in 1999; their son, Tyler; his sister, Peggy Palmateer; his brother, Kevin Brosnan; as well as several nieces and nephews who were the light of his life.

He was predeceased by his brother, Donnie Brosnan.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7 at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
