Obituary of Michael Richard Swanson

Michael Richard Swanson of Hopewell Junction entered into rest Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was 35.

Son of Richard and Marie Minozzi-Swanson, he was born in Poughkeepsie on January 7, 1988.

Michael worked in construction, specifically designing and building projects with meticulous detail. Michael always enjoyed learning new skills and was noted to accomplish any task he put his mind to.  Being an avid animal lover, he felt most comfortable out in nature.  He was best known for his fun-loving personality, gentle spirit and kind soul.  His greatest days were those spent with his adoring son, Carter.  Michael touched the lives of all those around him including his beloved pet companions.

In addition to his parents Richard and Marie, he is survived by his son, Carter Michael Swanson; brothers, Christian and Ryan Swanson; paternal grandfather, Richard Swanson; maternal grandmother, Carrie Dobbs; step-grandmother, Lynne Minozzi; and several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his partner Brittany Lerry.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Mary Swanson and maternal grandfather, Michael Minozzi.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590.  All in attendance will be offered the opportunity to share favorite memories.
