Obituary of Wilfredo T. Sapio
Wilfredo T. Sapio, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, August 7, 2023 at his home. Just like the lyrics from his favorite crooner, Wilfredo did it “My Way”. He was 83.
Son of the late Nicasio V. Sapio and Genoveva Tariman Sapio, he was born April 13, 1940 in Cebu City, Philippines. He married the former Evangelina Andales on January 19, 1964. Mrs. Sapio survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Prior to his retirement, Willie worked as a bond broker for Morgan Stanley at the Twin Towers in NYC. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, singing to the great hits of Sinatra and playing sports with his grandson.
In addition to his wife, Eva, he is survived by his three daughters, Glenda Angco-Castillo and her husband, John, Glady Sapio and her husband, Jerry Figueroa, and Gloree Sapio; his grandchildren, Christiana Williams and her husband, Steve, Arielle Santana and her husband, Jonathan, and Liam Sapio; as well as his great-grandchildren, Carter and Mason Williams and Noah Santana.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
