Daria Lynn Carey, age 54, passed away August 20, 2023 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born March 8, 1969 to parents Thelma Dore and Alfred Chin in Bronx, NY, Daria was a beautiful humanitarian who left her indelible mark on everyone she met. An infectious smile, open, warm and loving heart, she never left anyone feeling alone. 

Daria is survived by her mother, Thelma Dore, stepfather Wentworth Carey, siblings Angeli Chin, Don Carey, Vincent Carey, Andre Chin, Allison Goode, Jason Carey and Crystal Fuoco. 

In addition, she will be missed by her nephews and nieces Santino Carey, Damien Chin, Jalen Chin-Franz, Aiden Chin-Franz, Tobias Chin-Franz, Juliana Carey, Makenzie Carey and Lincoln Fuoco. Daria also is survived by a large extended family and friends. 

A celebration of life and family visit will be held at Straub Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, located at 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation made in the name of Daria Carey be sent to a favorite charity of choice. Those who are attending are requested to wear Daria’s favorite color of blue to show their love and support.
