Robert C. Moon, age 92, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 peacefully at home. He was born August 8, 1931 in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of the late Raymond and Helen Clark Moon. 

Robert was preceded in death by this wife, Gloria P. Moon and his sister, Carol M. McCawley, formerly of Aptos, California. 

Robert is survived by his daughter, Linda and son in law, Ron Orlando Jr. of Millerton, N.Y.; his son, Robert T. Moon of Pawling, N.Y.; his grandson, Nathaniel X. Orlando; and several nieces and nephews. 

Robert was a veteran and served in the United States Army in Korea. He was a graduate of Syracuse University and SUNY New Paltz. Robert was a certified social worker and at the time of retirement was employed by the NYS Division for Youth. As a parent of an autistic child, Robert was an advocate for the developmentally disabled. Along with wife Gloria, Robert played a key role in the formation of the first class in NYS for autistic children at Dutchess County BOCES. He served on the Board of Visitors at Wassaic Developmental Center and was a board member of Greystone Programs Inc. He was a devoted father to his son Robert and the two of them spent many weekends together hiking in Bowdoin Park.
