Obituary of Maria Fusco

Maria Fusco of Wappingers Falls and formerly of the Bronx, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City. She was 61. Daughter of the late Alfonso and Gilda Rispoli Fusco, she was born on January 10, 1955 in Manhattan. Maria worked as a secretary for many years for Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She enjoyed volunteering in their gift shop as a member of the Auxiliary of Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Maria was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls, where she previously taught Religious Education. Her favorite place in the world was the beach; she visited many beaches over her lifetime and never met one she didn't love. Survivors include her beloved aunt Josephine Zingone; cousins, Mary Vinci and her husband Charlie, and their daughter Gabriella; cousins, Dominick and Doreen Zingone; her family, Cindy and Richie Krol and their children, Marina, Joseph and Godson Hunter; aunt Louise Fusco, uncle Mario Fusco and their families; several cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews; and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by her brother Louis Fusco. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
