Anthony Sidote, Jr.

Obituary of Anthony J. Sidote, Jr.

Anthony “Tony” Sidote, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest on October 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 69 years young.

Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Mary Sidote as well as his beautiful sister-in-law Bernadette Paonessa; Tony was born December 30, 1953 in Beacon. Tony was a hard worker. At a very young age he started working various jobs while going to high school. He saved his money and bought his first 1969 Camero.  Tony graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and went to Dutchess Community College and trade schools.

Tony and Sandy have been together for fifty years, they we married on August 28, 1998 at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls with a reception following at Plum Bush in Cold Spring. Tony and Sandy are blessed with their son Christian (Dana). Tony and Chris share in their love of antique muscle cars and their capability of being handy and able to fix everything that comes along.

Tony started his career at IBM and then went on to work at NYS DOT. He met a lot of people at work especially his work buddy, Mike Parella. Through the years Tony and Sandy have made so many wonderful friends together, way too many to name. Tony really enjoyed being a life member of the New Hamburg Yacht Club. It made him feel so good to be able to play a part in the improvements and modifications on the club over the decades. Tony and Sandy have their very special club “family”. Tony enjoyed visiting all the local shops and talking with their owners including Rob from Top Notch, Antique Tony, and everyone that he would chat with at the station in the early morning to name a few. Tony’s favorite place to spend time was sitting at the club and watching the river.

Along with his wife Sandy and son Christian (Dana), he is survived by his sister-in-law, Dina and her son, Jacob, sister-in-law, Audrey, cousins, close friends and his beloved fur baby, Harlow. Tony will be truly missed by all that knew him.
