Obituary of Evelyn Ann Conners

Evelyn Ann Conners, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, November 16, 2023 at her home. She was 80. Her family takes comfort knowing that she is reunited with her husband Jerry as they prepare to celebrate their sixtieth anniversary.

Daughter of the late Dominic and Helen Ruf Marino, she was born May 12, 1943 in Poughkeepsie. On November 30, 1963 she married Gerald Conners. Gerry preceded her in death on July 15, 2016.

Evelyn was a hairdresser and worked and owned several salons locally. She was a parishioner of St. Nicholas on the Hudson and attended Zion Episcopal Church. Evelyn belonged to the New Hamburg Yacht Club and the Wappingers Falls Historical Society. She enjoyed dancing, playing dominos and loved to bake. She treasured her cousin’s night every Tuesday. She will be remembered as always being active and most importantly the love she had for her family.  

Survivors include her children, Scott Conners and his wife, Christie, Brian Conners and his wife, Kelly and Jeri Lynn Ludwig and her husband, Mark; her nephew, Chad Rossbach and his wife, Lisa as well as her beloved  grandchildren, McKenzie, Brian, Jr., Avery, Alyssa, BellaRay, Fallon, Aidan and Bailey. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marlene and Gloria.

Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21 at Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

Memorial donations in Evelyn’s name may be made to Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
