Obituary of Dwayne W. Girton

Dwayne W. Girton of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, April 22, 2024 at Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park. He was 51.
The youngest son of James E. Girton and the late Elva L. (Riker) Girton, he was born on January 21, 1973 in North Tarrytown.
Dwayne worked as a tradesman in construction and painting for many years. Most recently, he worked for Hannaford Supermarket in Wappingers Falls. He enjoyed his coworkers and loved the work. His family, friends and coworkers all remember him for his self-deprecating humor and willingness to find the laughter.
In his free moments, he enjoyed spending time outdoors enjoying the serenity and quiet that nature had to offer. He had a love for animals, especially dogs. Most of all, Dwayne loved his family and small circle of trusted friends, and would do anything to help them when called upon.
Dwayne is survived by his father, James E. Girton and his step-mother, Gail of Salt Point; brothers, Bryan Girton of Poughkeepsie and Randy Girton of Redding, CT; step-father, Robert Wolfe of Stafford, VA; step-brothers, Stephen and Jamie Balleau; step-sister, Melissa Hall; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
