Rose Ann Valencia

Obituary of Rose Ann Valencia

The world lost another angel. On May 23rd, 2024, Rose Ann Valencia, my beloved and respected wife, took her flight to heaven. The Lord has opened His mansion, I am certain, with the words we devotedly read in our Bibles: You have fought the fight. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Rose Ann Valencia, born Rose Ann Morales, is the loving mother of Olivia Rose Valencia and devoted wife to Oscar E. Valencia. She is dear to her stepchildren Samuel Valencia, Priscilla Portilla, Lisa Gerard, Harley Valencia-McNally, Catherine Valencia-McNally, and Alicia Valencia-McNally.

Rose Ann is a beloved sister to Hortensia and husband Luis Rosado (deceased), Ludy and husband Roy Rivera, Minerva and husband Michael Cabrera, and brother Jose and wife Monica Morales, and a cherished aunt to fourteen nieces and nephews. Rose Ann is predeceased by her parents, Celestino and Rosalia Morales, two dedicated servants of the Lord in the community of Beacon, New York. Rose Ann’s eldest brother, Louis A. Morales also predeceased her.

Describing Rose Ann’s life would require writing a book. But, let us emphasize some of her many precious times. Rose Ann is a graduate of Beacon High School and Pace University. She has many accomplishments throughout her life. By her own account, Rose Ann’s best years were the last sixteen, after giving birth and raising her precious daughter. Her devotion to raise Olivia with her Christian principles was her most important objective.

Rose Ann’s marriage to Oscar E. Valencia was a joyous occasion for her. She had been told she would never have children after treatment for her first cancer bout in 1999. When her daughter was born in 2008, she called Olivia “my miracle child”. Olivia made her mom completely happy and was truly her best friend.

Rose Ann had achieved success in the Fashion Industry prior to having her first and only child, Olivia. She switched from being career oriented to being an at home mother, helping her husband with his business and dedicating time to Olivia’s school activities.

Rose Ann loved to travel; she spent many weeks in Europe. Her favorite country was Spain where she had traveled with her sister Ludy as a young woman, and with her husband and daughter in 2017. Rose Ann was very knowledgeable in culinary matters and was an absolutely great cook. Her family and friends enjoyed her offerings and setting of tables. Presentation and high-quality food were essential and a must.

People remember Rose Ann as loving and kind, reaching out to every neighbor and person she would encounter wherever she went. Our neighbors describe Rose Ann as sunshine in our neighborhood. Our pastor pronounced Rose Ann a virtuous woman.

Her faith was present every day of her life. Brooklyn Tabernacle changed her life, and she would mention it frequently. Rose Ann told her doctors when diagnosed in 2021, I know you will do a good job, but remember: The Lord has given me an expiration date and no one can change it.

Rose Ann was taken up peacefully to The Lord early Thursday morning, May 23rd, 2024 while spending her last hour on this earth at home with her daughter Olivia by her side. We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for lending us this precious woman who taught us what is really important while we walk this earth. Until we see you again baby, we will do what you asked us and taught us to do. Amen
