Some people know that Josh and I dated. And after that, we stayed really good friends. He meant so much to me. I wouldn't be here today if he didn't help me and cheer me up many times. And I did the same in return.
Farewell, my great friend. We may see each other again in many, many years, even though I wished we would have met in person before that. I am sorry for not playing games with you as much as I had hoped.
A few days ago, in an attempt to feel better by thinking about something else, I opened 2 Pokémon booster packs that I had bought the day I heard the news (I don't even get outside often so this is even more unlikely).
In the second booster pack, I opened this rare card right here and I could not have hoped for a better card to represent him.
There is a bunch of Eevees (the fluffy creature on the card) for all of his friends. The one smiling in the middle is most likely our beloved Josh.
But there is also the first move this card has. "Ascension".
I will cherish this card until the day I meet him again in many tens of years.
It's also the first rare card I did not feel the need to check the price of. Because I already know it. It's priceless, inestimable. The greatest card I own, by far.
I do not know if you did this on purpose Josh, but if you did... thank you. It means a lot.
I am a writer, so I could definitely keep going with writing more about how much I cared about him but I will keep this "short".
Simply put, I loved him a lot and it's still hard to process the news.

Joshua was the absolute best brother God could’ve ever blessed me with. He spoiled me all the time even when I didn’t deserve it. His kindness and willingness to do anything for anyone is something I will always admire. His laugh was the funniest thing ever it made you want to laugh. I loved the days we did get to hangout with eachother which was rare. But now we are together everyday.

Joshua was the greatest friend that I ever had. He brought a smile to me every time we talked and every day we interacted and did almost everything together. We may have never met irl but he was the greatest person in my life and like a brother to me. I'm truly grateful to have been his friend for the six years we knew each other for. I didn't know him personally in real life, but I did chat with him occasionally online, and I simply have to say that he was incredibly kind and sweet any time we talked. Suddenly hearing he passed was jarring, it's something you don't really thinking about or expect when it comes to an online friend, but heartbreaking all the same.
