Obituary of Sean Donaghey

Sean Donaghey, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 31. Sean was a kind, loving, and gentle soul who brought light and joy to all who knew him. He had a deep love for his family and always cherished time spent together, especially during the holidays and family trips. His warmth, kindness, and  smile will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Born on April 2, 1993, in Danbury, Connecticut, Sean was the beloved son of Joanne Donaghey Galente of Wappingers Falls and 

Edward Shahin of Hopewell Junction, and the cherished stepson of Christopher Galente and Kathleen Shahin.   He shared a special bond with his family, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Sean worked alongside his father in sales at Allen Carpet in Yonkers, and he was known for his dedication and work ethic. In his free time, he loved hiking and exploring the beauty of nature. A devoted New York Yankees fan, he always found joy in cheering for his favorite team.

Sean is survived by his loving parents, Joanne and Edward; his sisters, Megan Galente and Crystal Rose Garcia; his brothers, Robert Garcia and Kerry Tyler Parris. He will also be deeply missed by his grandparents, Eileen Shahin, and Richard and Alice Galente, as well as many dear cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elton Shahin, and Joan and James Donaghey, who have welcomed him into eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.Interment will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Lafayette Avenue in the Bronx.

Though Sean is no longer with us, his gentle spirit, love, and the countless memories we shared will live on in our hearts forever.
