Obituary of Debra V. Cordaro

Debra V. Cordaro, 83 of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Belle Reve Senior Living, Milford, PA. The daughter of the late Francis and Irene (Roadcap) Hannigan. She was born February 5, 1941 in Kansas City, MO. Debra was married to William Cordaro on July 13, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY.

Debbie had a love for travel and in her younger years, she worked for TWA Airlines as a flight attendant before moving into a customer service role there. Two weeks after Debbie and Bill met, he asked her to marry him. They wed just six months later. Once married, she was a homemaker and a great cook. She often enjoyed visiting with the neighbors in their subdivision. Debbie had a big heart and loved all animals, especially birds and dogs. Beagles were her favorite and the family had many beagles over the years. She adored them tremendously. As her children grew, she became a Literacy Volunteer in the City of Poughkeepsie. She proudly volunteered with them for several years and took her role very seriously. Debbie also enjoyed watching musicals and listening to music. She knew the words to almost every showtune that existed. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Debbie leaves behind her beloved husband, William Cordaro of Wappingers Falls, NY; son, William M. Cordaro and his wife, Lizzy Rios, of Orlando, FL; daughter, Tracy Shaw of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter, Kerri Thompson and her husband, Michael Thompson, of Saint Cloud, FL; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Debbie was predeceased by her son-in-law, Jason Shaw.
