Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Dolfinger

Elizabeth Ann Dolfinger, 86, of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed on October 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Elizabeth was born on September 27, 1938 in Rich Square, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Percy Lassiter and Bessie Taylor Lassiter. She was a dedicated employee of Vassar Brothers Medical Center from 1970 until her retirement in 2000.  She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Wappingers Falls, New York.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Louis “Toot” Dolfinger, her sisters Louise Adell Gillespie and Rose Marie Sheppard; her brothers, John Willie Lassiter, Leon Douglas Lassiter, and Lorenzo Lassiter. She is survived by her son Louis Derek Dolfinger and his wife Sabrina, daughter Joy Dolfinger-Mendez and her husband Jaime; grandchildren Brandon and his wife Portia, Vanessa, Justis and Jalena; her brother Percy “Nip” Lassiter, Sister Mallie Rebecca Gregory and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Elizabeth was a caring, loving and generous person. She was always there to offer her support, wisdom and love in abundance. She was our earth angel.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 3:00PM followed by a Memorial service at 4:00PM at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2607 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls, New York.
