I don’t know were to start, but Gary and I did Ministry and Christian out reach for over 29 years. He always said, “it’s not the cross that is our focus but the journey to it that matters and delights our God and Savior “ So true, the simple acts, the smiles, the helping hands, anything you do small or large matters and makes difference!
A fond memory Gary and I had was when we were officers on Tres Dias Secretariat. Gary knew I was organized and had to have my multi colored pen to jot down notes during the meetings. It helped me keep my mind straight and prepared. As only Gary could when I wasn’t looking, sitting in a square, it gently tapped in slowly forward till it fell on the floor! Well the gasps from the attendees, knowing me so well, and the grin on his face, like the cat that caught the mouse, I’ll never forget! Gary loved everyone, even me and I him. I’ll miss you my brother, but never forget you! Be at peace, in our father’s arms. Love Harry, Linda and our whole family.

This news hit me hard. Gary and I were classmates at Passaic County Tech. He was a great friend to me, and instrumental in getting my wife and I together. RIP Gary.

I am privileged to know Gary through his work with the Cadets at Immanuel Church when my boys were of an age to be involved in that activity. For years even after the outreach was disbanded Isaac and Joel received Christmas cards from their faithful and encouraging leader Mr. Nagelhout who was such an example to them of loyalty, devotion to Christ, and welcoming youth to learn about the Bible. Later on Martha went to Faith Christian Academy where Gary was teaching math during her years there. Gary was open to whatever area of service God might call him to and bravely wondered about the blustery, rough but fruitful opportunity of elected public office should God lead him that way someday. It was always a joy to run into Gary and Linda at various points here and there throughout the years living out their faith, enjoying their kids, and serving people through the ministries to which they devoted time and energy at Immanuel and elsewhere. I neglected to obey a recent prompt to contact Gary when I heard that he was struggling in his health. I'm sorry that I didn't write, call, or visit so that I could smile and express gratefulness for these things with him. A workman deserves his wages. I trust that the Lord is welcoming home a busy, good, and faithful servant, but it's always pleasant to speak thankfulness and to see others drink in appreciative words.

I knew Gary through our Concurrent Workshops at DCC. He was a gentle man, known for his calm demeanor and quiet strength. He had a way of making others feel valued and respected. He was a faithful Christian and a deeply empathetic teacher. His faith wasn’t just a belief; it was a way of life that shaped his actions, interactions, and the way he approached his work. He demonstrated patience and kindness, showing genuine concern for the well-being and growth of his students. He will be missed but we feel peace in knowing he is in the presence of Jesus and all His love.

Gary was such an inspiration to me. We often talked about our faith as we shared lesson materials at DCC. One of the nicest, most Christian people I have ever met. Gary was a friend and he would help anyone at any time. I loved seeing his smiling face at each of the County Players plays. He and Linda sat only a few rows behind me. He will be missed by so many people!

Gary was a wonderful teacher and friend. He really understood students and what it takes to help them learn. We had a lot of terrific conversations about teaching, and some great times just shooting the breeze. I learned a lot from him. He will be missed.

Living for Jesus, a life that is true, striving to please him in all that I do; yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free, this is the pathway of blessing for me.
Living for Jesus Who died in my place, bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace; such love constrains me to answer His call, follow His leading and give Him my all.
O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee, for Thou, in Thine atonement, didst give Thyself for me; I own no other Master, my heart shall be Thy throne. My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee alone.
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15
