Obituary of Mary E. Bowe

Mary E. Bowe passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie NY.  She was 95 years old.  

Mary was born on January 14, 1929 in Edgewater NJ to John M.D. Wechgelaer and Anna Wechgelaer(nee Braal).  Mary was exceedingly proud of her Dutch heritage.  She graduated Elmsford High School and then went on to Berkley Secretarial School.   She wedded Walter J Bowe in 1950 in New York City.  They ended up residing in Rockland County NY where they raised their children Christine, Walter Jr, Thomas, Kevin and Robert.  Her retirement years were spent in the mountains on North Carolina and visiting her children and grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband in 2006 and sons Kevin and Thomas.

 Mom is currently walking the dogs in Heaven. She was always the animal lover.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls, NY. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. during the visitation.
